  • Do you still get audio? If not, there is usually a catastrophic power supply failure, often a failed electrolytic capacitor. It's also not uncommon for the high-voltage flyback transformer to fail because of a fault in the power supply. Power supply failure is generally the only TV failure that is worth paying for, since the boards are premade and easily replaced. If something else has failed then it is probably not worth fixing. It will cost as much for a comparable new rear-projection CRT TV. Find a repair shop that does free estimates.
