Yes, parents will check their children's email to protect them from predators. An unfortunate sign of the times we live in.

That would depend on the age of the children and what kind of sites they frequent. If they are just from friends I do not think the young person would have a problem with that. As they get older you have to start to respect their privacy as long as you know they are not in chat rooms.
