With everything in life you have to use your judgement. Most people on here are genuinely trying to help. I would however recommend that if you could ask your parents advice do so.

WTF!!! Hey, numbnuts! I AM a "real people," you twit!

I think its wise to use caution when listening to anyone concerning you. Even parents can be self interested and biased when it comes to their greatest investment and expenditure of self.

Nobody is ever sure if the advice they give is either taken or is right for the person. On relationships you can only give advice on your life experience or what you have observed.

Answerbag should be renamed Opinionbag as that's become the bulk of all the answers, just that person's opinion. And while it's true that a small percentage of the users actually know what they're talking about, that doesn't mean they'll see your question or even feel compelled to answer it if they do. It shows wisdom to know you need wise counsel, and if you didn't already know the value of discussing things with your parents and counselors, you wouldn't have asked this question. So my guess, Anonymous, is that you're a smart person and already know the answer to this.

You have to understand that everyone on the net are real people just like you. Just like your parents and counselors. Advice is but suggestions for you to consider that everyone on this planet has to offer. It comes to you through others lives experiences. Rather or not you follow is up to you. As for who's advice works best for you is just something you will have to determine for yourself. The wise thing to do is to take in all the advice you can from as many people as you can and when something works for you keep it and when something doesn't you toss it out. ((No matter who it came from)).
