  • It meant that your dream was accurate... you were falling!
  • it symbolizes a feeling of failure in some aspect of you life. love life career blah blah. or it can also symbolizes subconcious arousal and when you hit the ground or just before you hit the ground and you wake up that is your body's subconcious way of alerting you of your surroundings in your arousal.
  • I think we have all experienced that from time to time and they are very frightening. Basically they stem from "control" In the dream free falling is scary because you have no control over it, you just fall and fall. All dreams are our subconscious coping with every day fears, wants, desires etc. I would say there is something in your life right now (if you are having them) that only you can control. Once you figure out what it is, the dreams should subside.
  • It means that you have had a dream that most of us have had.
  • you were about to die, but actually you are always supposed to wake up right before you die in a dream
  • DRINK LESS
  • When you fall in a dream its a symbolic representation of a goal or ideal that is unrealistic. The farther the fall the less realistic the goal.
  • They used to say it meant you would die if you hit the ground , rubbish of course it is said to denote worry over acheiving a goal or failing to reach a mark you have set for yourself. Everyone puts different interpretations apon dreams. Just take it as what it is A Dream nothing more, we all need to have them , they are part of our sleep pattern even if we do not remember them
  • I have always heard it means you are holding your breath in your sleep and if you actually hit the ground and die in your dream then you will die for real.
  • maybe you were floating above youre bed while you were sleeping
  • You get the feeling when you are very faintly asleep and your whole body relaxes totally. I've also heard that it's just a reflex to keep yourself in bed and not fall out. If, for example, your arm is out of your bed, the brain sends signals for the arm to pull back. The reason why you sometimes fall off the bed is that you're in deep sleep and the reflex doesn't activate. Heh, heh... This reminds me of when I was small I fell out of my bed and said: It was better down here... and went back to sleep.
  • Falling dreams are common. Hitting the ground is a shocking message from our subconsicous to our conscious brain that is sure to awaken us.
  • I agree with so many others that it symbolizes a lack of control, fear of failure, apprehension etc. But my Dr. also told me that I may experience a sense or feeling of falling due to lack of oxygen related to sleep apnea and the brain processes this as a dream of falling in order to force myself to wake up (and breath).
  • For me it happened only when I fell out of bed. What a shocker of a wake up!
  • There are many many explainations for this. The one I like most is that it's your brain thinking that the body is falling. While sleeping the body is the most relaxed it ever was, and because of that, the brain thinks that it's falling. Waking up is acctually a slow process, the brain wakes up little by litte. Sometimes, maybe, it realises just how relaxed it is without it realising that it's sleeping. The brain always does this. It never seems to know that it's acctually sleeping. Have you ever kicked in you sleep? Or had a partner who did that? This is called a Hypnic Jerk, and happens because the brain thinks that the body is dying, and tries to revive it. The brain acctually interprets sleeping as being dead. Weird huh? Anyhow. When the brain wakes up and realises that it's falling, or thinks it is, it creates that in a dream. It does this because it doesn't get any information from the outside world, and it works with what information it has, merely the sensation of being relaxed. So, it creates the vivid imagery that is a falling dream. Now, the reason you wake up with a wim, is that the brain wakes itself up out of the excitement of falling. I don't know how well I explained this, but that's the theory. Another theory is that you are insecure about something, but I simply don't believe that.
  • Just to clarify before I compute my sparkling high-powered psychically-generated future-proofing analytic answer - do you: 1. Dream you are about to hit the ground, and then really wake up ? 2. Dream that you wake up, just about the time you dream that you hit the ground ? or 3. Dream that you are falling, then really wake up as you really hit the ground ? Errm - I think there might be a 4th possibility, bit now I'm getting muddled. Maybe its time for a rest...... Hope I don't dream - this could get VERY complicated with all that stuff churning round in there. Might get even MORE difficult to interpret.......
  • i think we all have this dream in are life and we aren't sure what it means but some of us have this dreams more than others like myself i have it alot and im not sure what it means to the point where i am really concerned about it
  • i don't know but i hate it soon after my dad died i kpt dreaming of this i put the dream down to not wanting to let go. but even so i reach out and grab what ever i can to keep me from falling usually the headboard.
  • Maybe it your subconcious telling you that the path you are on is the wrong one, cause your waking life is not acknowledging it
  • I think your dream means that you feel you are alone in your life and have no one 2 catch you if you do fall... I believe dreams are messages but honestly only you can tell yourself what your dream means and how it relates 2 ur life. How did you feel when you were dreaming? and when u woke up? Hope I helped :)
  • it means you are facing something in your life, or having some sort of trouble.. your subconcious is trying to tell you how to solve your problem,, or what your problem is. your it means certain things like if you hit the ground something terrible is gonna happen,, or if you just fall and you are fine, then that means you can over come your problem. so your subconcious is trying to tell you sometning through your dreams, how did you feel when you woke up? werew you scared, releaved? or confused? ask your self these questions. i hope i helped,, any questions contact me,, my email is: marta123mini@hotmail.com i hope i helped! :]
