  • You might have build up of wax, or even remnance of cotton from a q-tip, but i'd let the doctor check before you go diggen..lol
  • my english teacher had a bacteria in his ear, it busted before he had a chance to go to the doc. sorry if this only disturbeb you more.
  • I am just now getting over an ear infection and I had the same symptoms as you are experiencing. You may not have an infection though.. It could be fluid or ear wax build up. You should go to the doctor and have it checked.
  • Hopefully just a build up of wax, but could be an infection. If it's either of those it's probably still something that can be easily cleared up.
  • If it is ear wax, swap the ear canal with a q tip dipped in hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide will loosen and flush out the wax.If that does not help ,it's usually an ear infection and its time to see the Dr. for some antibiotics.
  • ... could be as simple as a wax plug ... could be as serious as deteriorating nerves from an infection, and/or brain tumor ... could be a build up of fluid around the three tiny bones on the inner side of the ear drum that distorts the vibrations ... could be a small rupture and leak of the fluid from the semi circular canal also altering the way vibrations are passed ... ... lets hope it is just the common wax plug problem ...
  • I agree with the other ABers. It sounds like a build up of wax. An ear infection would more likely be accompanied with some pain. If you have some olive oil you could lie on your side so that the affected ear was uppermost, and put one or two drops in your ear. Lie there for 10 minutes until its soaked into the wax then sit up and mop any excess up. Don't put any cotton wool in your ear. Do this 3 to 4 times a day. It will help to soften the wax and may prevent you needing them syringing.
  • It's probably wax. A significant portion of the population needs to get the wax removed by a doctor on a regular basis. The doctor will either syringe it out with a jet of water, or scrape it out with a tiny loop of wire called a curette. Both are uncomfortable procedures, but not painful. And it's very satisfying to hear the loud CLUNK of a raisin-sized chunk of wax falling into the metal bowl afterward.
