Many people coming from traditional Islamic countries are not religious and quite readily adapt to the secular nature of the West. Alcohol, pork and non halal meats are examples of the foods that tempt them, either because of taste or price. In many instances, bacon is produced not only from the hog but also from chicken, turkey or even beef. In some cultures, such as Indonesia, the love of pork predates the introduction of Islam and is an integral ingredient of their cuisine. People are alawys ready to make compromises..........

Bacon also is prohibited for Muslims. The whole pig is prohibited for Muslims without any exception. Actually, according the teachings of Islam, Pigs and the dogs are the animals which are untouchable to Muslims.
-
Same for Jewish people. Some are strictly observant and some are not. I'm not so much worried about the pork-eating. Check out the Ten Commandments - for all of us - not just the Muslims.

WELL I M A MUSLIM AND WE DON'T EAT BACON ! APART FROM QURAN ( HOLY BOOK )prohibiting consumption of pork bacon; in fact the Bible too in LEVITICUS chapter no 11 verse 8 regarding swine it says'of there flesh (of the swine another name of pig)shall you not eat, and of their carcass you shall not touch;they are 'unclean to you' I am sure u r well informed about the harmfull effects of the consumption of pork,in any form,be it pork chops, ham, bacon. :)

The muslim people i know don't eat pork so they don't eat bacon either

If it comes from a pig they wont even touch it.

These are ancient superstitions. They may have had relevance in the days before refrigeration but no longer. In India killing cows was forbidden in an effort to keep the poor from killing their only capital. Now it has evolved to making cows holy. Muslims don't eat pork because the quran says so. The don't like dogs (a real shame) because Mohammad didn't like them. Jews don't eat pork and, I think shellfish. I expect most of these food restrictions evolved because some holy guy was either allergic to them or prejudiced against them. Religion's job is to propagate myth and they have been very successful.

Pork is haram. My friend do you know why pork is Haram for Muslims. This is not because Allah didn't like Pigs so condemned people from eating it. It is because Pork is dangerous for our health. Pig's are like scavengers so they eat anything from mud to dead insects. Pigs can cause Influenza, Pig meat has excessive quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc. Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage. Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has TRICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork. Many people have NO SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections. Muslims don't eat Bacon as well. Because Bacon can cause damage to your lungs because of the preservatives, antimicrobial agents or colour fixatives found in it. Please if any muslim doesn't know that Bacon is Haram do let him know.

They eat some kind of bacon which is not made of pork. 1) "Noun 1. bacon (uncountable) A cut of meat from the sides, belly or back of a pig, particularly, or sometimes other animals. Thin slices of the above in long strips." Source and further information: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bacon 2) "Bacon is a cut of meat taken from the sides, belly, or back of a pig, and then cured, smoked, or both. Meat from other animals, such as beef, lamb, chicken, goat, or turkey, may also be cut, cured, or otherwise prepared to resemble bacon, and may even be referred to as "bacon". Such use is common in areas with significant Muslim populations." Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon

Muslims are forbiden to consume pork according to their faith. They will not eat the standard bacon made of pork; instead they will eat a bacon made from alternative meat (such as turkey) or a completely vegan option made of tofu.

I actually had a Muslim friend from Kuwait who had no idea that "Bacon" came from pigs. He was sheltered from pork all his life, never taught what food products are made from pork, and pork is hard to get in Kuwait so when he went on vacation he had no idea! Sometimes people are just misinformed.

Why should you care? Isn't that their business and not yours? Last I checked, Christians have their own share of hypocrisy, inmorality, violence and scandals to worry about
