  • I think a disk is a square item that holds data on tape inside. A disc is any round item.
  • A DisK is a DisKette, a cartridge with a rotating disc on a spring, used for protection from the weather. They're the size of a CD jewel case. A DisC is just a disc.
  • Hard Disk Drive Floppy Diskette Compact Disc I believe the difference is that in the first two examples (disk...), the disks are enclosed. In the case of a CD (or DVD), the disc is not enclosed and used as is.
