A common dinner in Korea is rice with kimchee (stinky fermented cabbage). Why don't they die of malnutrition?

"A common meal" does equal the only thing they ever eat. You could eat that once a day every day, and as long as there were one or two other meals, you would not starve. Oh, and by the way, the number of people who do starve to death every day in North Korea is very high.
