Oh, it looks, and sounds nice, but as you point out, the Germans attempted this in the 1920's, to disastrous results. More money is going to devalue the Pound, and cause inflation, costing more jobs. How would I solve the recession? I don't think you can solve a recession, only make it worse by too much government intervention. Perhaps cutting taxes might ease the pain, but nothing can solve it. Depressions & recessions are part of the financial ststem correcting itself. The key is to help those most affected. I think.

Where did you read this? I live in the UK and haven't heard it. I'm not saying you're wrong but would like to read about it. If we are doing it then it's just another reason to kick that miserable scrotum, Gordon Brown, out of No.10.

They can also look to the US and see what that has done. And are they in a recession? Good for them, we wouldn't want them to be in a depression like we are

No government can solve a recession/depression. It's just like the weather and it will soon pass. The more money that they put into their economy the less of a value it will retain. The best thing that any government can do is to stay out of the way and give more tax money back to it's citizens to spend in the economy.
