Yes I do.I got -2 for my answer to the question : " Are you a Harry Potter fan ? " and my answer was :" Yes I'm " ! Isn't it bizarre?

yes, and i wish i could see who did it so i could follow them around on the site and subtract points from everything they do

I would prefer it if people explained exactly why they are so unimpressed with my answer. If it was made compulsory to explain a downrate many users would then seek out the downrater and do the same to him, leading to tit-for-tat downrate wars, which is why it will never happen.

OK first, no points get subtracted all the points you earn you keep. The little boxes to the right of the questions and answers are just ratings. Which says hey I like your answer or I hate your answer. Only the positive rating create points the negative ratings don't really do anything but annoy people who think they are points. The person who gave them hurt their percentages so in all honesty they are hurting themselves by handing them out. The site's staff will not allow an all out war to break out in the down-rating department and although not everyone will do this it can happen. We all get people who do not like what we say and everyone gets down-rated because we simply can't please everyone. It would be nice if people gave reasons but that is not likely to happen because they would prove to everyone they are bitter people who mostly down-rate because they are either jealous, they are hateful, they believe they are right and anyone who does not agree with them are wrong. etc... A few members down-rate because they feel the answers given are truly unhelpful or could be damaging if anyone was to follow the advice. They will most likely tell you why they down-rated you when this does happen. You can bet if someone does say why it is something they feel strongly about and you should take notice and try to learn from it.
