Does it take more points to reach the next level as you reach higher levels?

You know what's weird about this? Before the big points system overhaul a few months ago it was quite easy to rank up. Since the overhaul I found myself needing almost 3,000 point for the next rank. 2,786 points later... I rank up. How many points 'til next rank? only about 800... I don't get it.

Yes it certainly does. I needed 9,200 to reach the next level and the last few levels have all been over 8,000.

It does take a long time, but I think that's a good thing. I personally think that some of the lower levels are a bit too easy but it all 'levels' out. When you first see how many points you need and look back just a few levels and SEE how many more it is, it is surprising but somehow you just answer away and ask questions and slowly but surely it gets done.

Yes. When I reached my present level, which is Level 88, I needed more than 14,000 points to reach Level 89. That's almost the points required to make Sage (Level 50).
