when it comes time that you can change the jewelry (could be longer that 4-6 months some take up to a year to heal) it probably wont loosen up enough to put a 14 gauge in there but if you go to your piercing artist you can get it tapered up to a 14 no problem after its healed

Listen to fred, it may take longer. Don't just insert something larger, you'll probably tear your piercing and put you back at the beginning of healing. With a navel I'd wait a year before stretching, the longer you wait the easier it will be. You can do it yourself with a long steel taper and lube, or you can wrap your jewelry in teflon tape over a period of a week or two to stretch the piercing. You've got awhile to research stretching, so look around and read some stories and find some forums. Just remember to be patient! Rushing a stretch, especially on a newly healed piercing, can cause serious problems.
