Question

Help answer this question below.

Why does answerbag, redundantly, always send 2 emails to notify a member that one answer has been received to a question, thereby overfilling one's email mailbox seemingly without reason since 1 such email would suffice?

I do not know why you are getting two emails... I have always gotten one. You could have more than one required option checked or having an odd glitch.

Here are some things you can do to reduce AB spam. I pretty much have things how I like them.

You can unsubscribe from questions by going into your watchlist and unchecking the checked boxes. This will stop the notifications of each answer. If you subscribed to a busy question, you are going to be flooded with the things.

You can go into your preferences (your profile, to settings, to preferences) and uncheck for mail as well. That will stop things like notifications when an answer that you rated has changed. This will not keep stuff on your watchlist from showing but it might slow down the spam.

Also be careful to uncheck the box that comes up when you submit an answer that asks if you want to receive new answers to this question. If you check the box for one question it stays checked until you uncheck it.

From what I've experienced, you receive one for the writing or comment and then one when your points have been changed.

I put thim in my spam folder at yahoo and forget about it. I dont appeal flags anyways so I dont need to read them. I always forget to uncheck the send email option when I answer the questions and I was getting a hundred a day.
