Visualization mostly, words only when thinking about something concrete such as trying to solve a problem of some kind. Aurally seldom. I have very poor aural memory. I have to see it or visualize it to remember it.

What an interesting question. At first, I was immediately tempted to post yes, but after "thinking" about it, that's not exactly true. What's surprising is, I hadn't realized it until now. It occurred to me that what actually happens is at a particular moment I "know" or "understand" something. Now, for whatever reason (insecurity probably), I translate that "knowing" or "understanding" into words which I mentally contemplate. The implication, if correct, is: Real thought is "timeless", meaning it "takes no time". The words I mentally dwell upon or contemplate are merely recycled ideas or impressions. Does this make any sense?
