Wanting it and doing it are 2 different things. These people should be asking if it is legal for them to have sex.

Yes BUT how many of them are actually ONLY going to date.. 99% of them WILL have sex. and in my eyes I don't care if they have sex or not, it screams pedophilia. In no way is a 14 year old mature enough to date a 25 year old. They have nothing in common. Why else would they date?

Its clear that when a girl asks asks a question like that, shes already well aware of the fact that he is much older, and PERHAPS all he wants is sex. However, we dont know these boys, we make assumptions, based on what is written in the question, who are we to judge these young men? Yes, in some/many cases the guy is after one thing, and i dont know the laws in the US im guessing its illegal to have sex under the age of 18. But in the UK, the legal age for having sex is 16. Now im dating a 22 year old, and ive already posted questions like this on here, were looking for advice, not people saying how pervy the guy is or how all he wants is sex. We have more sense than you lot give us credit for. Anyway, me and the guy im currently seeing is not after sex, yes hes admitted that he thinks about it (but who doesnt think about sex? even us women do!!), but theres a difference between thinking it and actually doing it. We have conversations about intimacy all the time, and we've never even come close to having sex yet. Despite the fact that hes told me hed never pressure me into anything, i already knew that. Ive known him for over five years, and i totally 100% trust him. i feel safe with him, and sometimes, hes the one acting like a child!! I havnt taken the descision about seeing him lightly at all, even he's been cautious, he realises that im a lot younger than him...My parents are also friends with his parents, and my aunty and uncle know his parents and hes good mates with my cousin. So if were not careful, we could risk ruining everything. Were not going to keep it secret, i plan on telling my parents, in a mature way. I know they may not be happy with the situation, but were not doing anything wrong and everything is within the law. What im trying to say, is that you dont know the situation some of these girls are in, and yes, im sure that some of them are making themselves very vulnerable, however, there are also girls who are a lot more mature than you realise. Some of the guys are also a lot more immature too. Im not sure if this point is really relevant either, but long before now, there have been girls in the UK and the US who have been married before the age of 14 and had children. Please, what are your thoughts on my situation? Have i got a valid point also? or am i as immature as you make most of us out to be? Yes it's only illegal if they have sex. However, I highly doubt they're going to date and not touch each other. It's just morally wrong. At 14 you're a child, at 25 you're a man. It should be illegal to even date a child.
