  • Perhaps it would have made more sense, but Palestine has major religious significance.
  • Nope, 'cos the land we now call Israel is the Jewish holy land.
  • While it would have probably been the most appropriate course of action to take, the Germans would have most likely eaten the remaining ones alive. However, I still contend that all that mess can be easily fixed by relocating them all to Texas. Of course, they'll then pick a fight with the Chicanos but, oh, well...
  • Ah, yes, and give the Germans something to stew about. WWII was a result of German stewing.
  • How does an almost genocide correspond to war reparations? Land for lives? That's putting a finite value on human life isn't it? Exactly as the Nazis did? Those of the Jewish faith weren't given Palestine out of war reparations. It was the UN who effectively partitioned it. Historically speaking, the land belongs to both " Palestinians" and " Israelis" and was more or less originally divied up 50/50.
  • Personally, I don't think the Jews deserved any more restitution than any other group. The Gypsies were part of the final solution, and they lost a larger percentage of their population than the Jews did, but not only did they not get any land, they got swept under the rug for the most part, and kicked, beaten, and treated like the scum of the earth. Whenever someone says how badly the Jews were treated in the holocaust, all I can think is how poorly it shows on humanity as a whole, that there were so many others that were victims, and they are forgotten, while the Jews get so much coverage.
  • Gee maybe we should apply that theory to other races that have been wronged. We could start with the Native Americans. The Blacks, the Chinese, and all the other races that the White man here in America took advantage of and killed. How far back in history do you want to go, and which countries to you want to include? The Jews weren't the only ones.
