  • There probably isn't much you can do except replace it. Most times the yellowing of the plastic is due to the chemical breakdown of the material and can not be cleaned. This is due to sunlight, water, and chemicals the plastic sees over the life of the vehicle. But if you want to try to clean it, I would suggest Goo Gone followed by some 409. Some of it may be on the inside also though, so will have to try to clean there too.
  • Plastic headlamp covers oxidize and yellow over time. Polishing them or using an abrasive compound on them will remove the yellow but dull them with scratches and give them a foggy appearance. Never use any form of abrasives to remove oxidation. Abrasives serve in resurfacing a lens and thats not what most of them need. Oxidation is the most common problem and it can be safely removed instantly with a non abrasive pure liquid acrylic lens deoxidizer. Abrasives cause permanent damage to the surface of the headlamp cover. Once you use an abrasive cleaner on a headlight it begins to deteriorate. http://www.ibc34.com/CONSUMERREVIEW.html
