Not to be harsh, but get over him. One of the first rules when you are gay and looking for a mate, in my opinion, is, "If you think he's straight, he probably is. Don't mess with him." If you think he would be understanding of the idea then bring it up to him. Let him know that you value him as a friend more than as a love interest and in no way want to ruin your friendship, but that you also have romantic feelings for him. Ask if he minds this, is weirded out by it at all, or maybe he could go for it. Either way, if he is straight, do not, I repeat, DO NOT try to turn him gay. Let him question and make that decision for himself if he wants to try a homosexual relationship or just wants to stay friends. In the first place, it all depends on how brave you are. Are you willing to possibly lose him to ask him this? You have to understand it may happen. You know him better than me, so I say to make your own assumptions concerning his possible responses to your telling him this and decide whether or not to tell him. Good luck on keeping him as a friend and I'll cross my fingers for you.

You can't. If he is straight than you are out of luck. Find someone else. You can't change him.
