  • The engine light has been on in my Chrysler T and C for almost two years. I've had it in four shops in two states trying to find the reason. It always comes back with the same code, evap system. It has developed a tiny pinhole leak somewhere in a vaccuum line that we can't find. The tank and the gas cap have both pressure tested fine. It is running cool, has good oil pressure and compression. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you disconnect the battery, it will reset and the light will go off for a few days, but it always comes back. The sensors and computers on these newer cars are so sensitive that they pick up on little problems that you never would have noticed in older cars, like vaccuum leaks. As long as you know it is cool and has good oil pressure, etc, its probably better not to drive yourself crazy trying to find a minor problem in a 13 year old car with how many miles on it?
  • I have two Lumina's and have had a similar problem. I changed the spark plugs and wires and corrected one problem. You should hook it up to a computer and get the codes if you haven't already. Probably something minor. I own a 1996 and a 1997, great cars. You may have a catalytic coverter problem or possibly a sensor going bad. After 200k miles or so they have a tendecy to go bad. There are so many parts on the engine that can go bad after time, such as vacuum lines, etc. Feel free to contact me at bigd0822@aol.com. Hope this helped a bit.
