  • Satanists actually don't worship or believe in the Christian Devil. Satanism is a totally different religion from Christianity.
  • Satanists do not worship Satan. The idea of worship of anything is repugnant to a Satanist. The only group who sees the devil/Satan through the same lens as Christianity is Christians. Go away and actually read some factual information.
  • Well, you've answered your own question really, but you have two small facts wrong. 1. Satan is the word used to describe the Devil, it is not his name, his name is Lucifer or 'The Devil' 2. Satan does not mean 'to slander' or anything even remotely close, it means 'to oppose or challenge' (At least, that is the closest translation from the Hebrew word 'Satan' to English, there isn't a direct translation) You were close enough with adversary though I guess ^ When Satan is used in the Bible, it is sometimes used in the same manner as a name would be, but in these cases it is actually used as a 'title' (Much like God is referred to sometimes as 'The Lord', or 'Father', {Even God is actually a description and not a name, in Christian belief, God's name is either Yahweh, or Jehovah}) ^ Lucifer's title/description is 'Satan'; he is the opposition to God, the challenger of God's power. (This is all a Christian viewpoint, I'm not entirely sure how Judaism views this subject) ***** So, Satan's meaning changes depending on the context it is in, or simply can mean a wide range of things at the same time. In Satanism's case, as AR & Toro have both said, Satan represents nothing at all related to the Christian 'Devil'. Satanism is about challenging oppression or control someone else may have over your own life, in the sense that... You own your life, regardless of ANYTHING, your life is under your control, your body is your property, and we challenge anything and anyone who tries to usurp that power from us. (You see, it is something entirely different from 'the embodiment of evil' isn't it? I'm aware that in Christian belief, 'basically' your body is God's, but he has given it to you, he gave you life, etc and you are given the freewill to either accept or deny him, etc... So in that regard, it is understandable that Satanism may be regarded as a worship of the physical, and a fulfilment of carnal desires, and is as such a Sin, but simply sinning is FAR off from 'embodying evil' as many Christians believe we do. All of that being said though, I personally love it how Christians tend to get in a huff when they hear I'm a Satanist, it's good for a laugh occasionally to see someone who doesn't actually know what they're talking about going crazy at me :) THAT being said though :D It's disgusting that some people take it to an entirely different level and actively discriminate against us, when they have such total misconceptions about EVERYTHING to do with us... ***** So yeah, to summarise: 1. We are on no 'team' except our own 2. Because it is actually quite a normal belief system which most people follow without realising it 3. I don't know why anyone would believe anything someone who is defined as 'the ultimate evil' says. We sure don't, and I'm yet to hear of anyone who truly does, except for the mentally insane :) (Rated your question up, because I feel you are simply mistaken, rather than one of the 'active discriminators' out there, hope this helps you understand that you have nothing at all to fear from us, all we care about is making ourselves happy at -N-O- cost to anyone else, we have nothing to do with the Evil you believe in, except we share the use of a single Hebrew word, under different translations :P)
  • To believe in satan you have to believe in a christian god also as you cant get a heaven without a hell!! personally i believe in neither. If you do somethink wrong is it not by your hand that you do it??People use a devil to make what they do blamless to them. If you stab some one it was your hand that stabbed!
  • You need to read more, ask less.
  • The hypocracy of the modern Christian Church knows no bounds. The same Satan they point their finger at is the god they serve. If you ever want to see slander and gossip just go to the local Church!
