Depression is a downward spiral... Its in your power to overcome it.

You will be happy eventually. I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but is does take time. I myself was depressed for a while and founf that time and talking with others made a big difference. Hang in there and don't give up. Also if you get any thoughts of hurting yourself or others, talk to your doctor and maybe he can give you some medicine for depression. Hopefully this helps. I wish you all the best.

You were also recently under heavy sedation. That adds to depression.

try this, every morning when you wake up. Think of one reason you are waking up(kids, job, housecleaning) think of how fortunate you are to have what you have. Then do your little morning routine if you start feeling sad pick a memory the happiest memory you have or even one of those stupid little jokes that everytime you say it in you head it makes you giggle. Put a little stupid-ness in your life. a weekley trip to the park with a blanket to roll down a hill just something dumb that sounds like fun only kids could have.

I've found that It can be a very hard thing to deal with unles you get some help. It quite often is a chemical imbalance and can be corrected easily if you do it bfor it goes on for too long (like for years). So get professional help and you will feel better about evaluating it. Then once you feel better you can learn how to control your thoughts. They often make things worse, if you don't know how to control them they control you.

Decide to be happy. - Begin at once to live, and count each seperate day as a seperate life.
-
You are going to get better. i know it.
-
It is completely your choice. If you wake up in the morning and say today is going to be horrible... you'll be depressed for another day. If you wake up and say I'm going to make the best of things today... you're one step closer to being happy.

If you are depressed then see a doctor. You do not have to feel this way. There are scores and scores of scientific studies that prove that depression can be caused by an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the human brain. Even if your doctor suggests drugs..try it...it's okay...everyone needs a crutch now and then.

it is very possible i have a personality disorder. i do think that i have depression or have had depression for so long that i dont know know how to be any other way. whenever i am happy i dont know enjoy myself, so i remain depressy because it is comfort. so i have to think differently and everything start with the way you think, every answer i read seems correct, i am just saying a possibility. oh but there is hope for us, it will get better if you want it to, because if you dont want you arent going to stop searching for answers until your satisfied, that applies to everyone

Hopefully you'll be happy most of the time, but some days you might feel down and sad - that's just human.

'The route of all mental illness is the unwillingness to experience genuine suffering.' (Paraphrase) Carl Jung. Life is difficult. The human condition; more so. Some experience this more profoundly than others. I can't explain why.
