  • Mormons wouldn't react any different than you or me. Just because their faith maybe different, doesn't change the fact that their human beings, and no different than you and me.
  • I’m not in the armed forces, but if I were, I’d do my best to be a good soldier (sailor, etc.). Take World War II, for example: there were plenty of Latter-day Saints in Germany, so I’m guessing there were LdS soldiers, as well. Their membership in the Church doesn’t make them any more deluded by Hitler. Sometimes you’ve just got to choose the lesser of two evils, and while it’s certainly wrong to kill, it would have been more wrong to let the wholesale murder of millions of innocents continue under Hitler’s hands. Being a Latter-day Saint doesn’t necessarily shield a person from having to make difficult decisions; it just gives us a little more context, to help us make the right ones.
  • Oh my God! Are you suggesting that you should value the life of someone MORE if they happen to share your own superstitious beliefs?!?! Do you realize that this NECESSARILY implies that you would put LESS value on the lives of those who think differently than you? That is just sick. I hope this isn't really the case.
  • Arrange a kinda "side bar" w/ Mormons of both sides to identify themselves *only* to one another. Then only gun down enemy of 'competing' faiths (but, of course, opposite political/national affiliation) with *very accurate*, yet fully automatic weapons. Ya' think that could 'work'?! ;-)
  • If you have to ask that question, I really hope you don't join the forces... If it came down to that, there is only 2 options, live or die.
  • If you want to see an example of where this actually happened, then you might want to watch a movie called "Saints and Soldiers" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373283/plotsummary). The German sympathizer mentioned in the second summary was an LDS convert that had been baptized by Deacon while he had been serving a mission in Germany before the war.
  • They would display thier secret undies and provide the secret handshakes. Than the two apposing soldiors would go out for a non caffinated drink together. Thus showing an example to the rest of the armies and ultimently ending the battle. This is true I saw it in a steak meeting while the meat of the subject was being seered. I am sorry though, all the evidence was consumed by a vile liquid deep in the bowls of our stomachs.
  • Watch the movie Saints and Soldiers.
  • I am Mormon and in the army and i'll tell you right here and now, if someone is shooting at me i'm going to shoot back, if someone is shooting at one of my soldiers I'm going to shoot back, regardless of who it may be doing the shooting.
