I have never heard that...I would say Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and California easily beat out Alaska as well as many other states.

Maybe because Alaska was purchased by the U.S. Secretary of State, in 1867 for $7.2 million from Russia. So the link here is Russia and socialism. Pretty obvious...

I think the reason is that Alaska gets more U.S. federal per capita than any other state. With pork barrel, the U.S. taxpayers are financing Alaska. Socialism is spreading the wealth. Wealthy states such as New York, California, etc. contribute more in tax dollars than they get back. Alaska is a recipient, not a contributor.
