they made it with 500 combined man hours of work, using whatever language nintendo wrote for the GameBoy. you could try to make one, but the vast majority of games never leave people's head.

Most newer games are programed in C or C++ they might not be that easy to learn if you are a beginner. You can download a program called Game Maker (yoyogames.com/make) it is very easy to learn. Also you can go to gamedev.net for a bit more advanced things.

Go 2 a game design school or get some good software I dont know much bout pokemon but i want RC software and im making my own mod team for scriting and all that it will be an mmorpg so if ur interested in hearing more bout it email me at bennyxviper@gmail.com it will be great u can make ur own factions and send real people on quests instead of the same old npc quest like every other mmorpg.

Ya shakin is right im downright ubsessed wit game design now i have my own little mod team n we r making an mmorpg so good luck 2 u n could even be on our mod team at Good-idea games but keep working towards ur goal n it will come.
