  • that it seems to make a lot of racist white males very angry and go on and on about "reverse racism". Whenever the topic comes up, it's like hearing a chorus of Sean Hannity's go on and on about how mistreated white men are and how they are "not racist but..." and then proceed to make it sound like minorities only get jobs via affirmative action and that they would not be qualified. To hear people bitching about the 1 in 10 jobs that did not go to a white person is hysterical to me. It's like if i ate 3/4 of a pie and then complained about how "unfair" it is that someone said "hey, maybe you could share at least one piece"
  • I understand that affirmative action works to advance those who are typically oppressed- but that shouldn't be done through unfair and unproportionate measures. Trying to solve discrimination with discrimination only widens the gap.

  • We are told and taught to not judge other based on race, sex, or religion; yet we are told to give certain classes of people a break. We can't have it both ways folks. I always support accepting or hiring the best. That challenges us to be our best.

  • I'm learning about it. I think originally it was a really good idea. It just wasn't implemented in the right way, with quotas being enforced and stuff. It's an interesting subject.
