  • I vote on the Colt simply because it is a Colt.
  • Go for the one with the lowest price. Colt lost the patent years ago and a whole slew of other makers have extracted everything there is to know about the 1911 pistol. Personally, I'd buy a Kimber even if it was more expensive than a Colt because Colt is no supporter of the Second Amendment as evidenced by their behavior during the Clinton administration.
  • Well from a quality standpoint, both colt and Kimber are top notch manufacturers and stand behind their product 100%. Both are fine weapons...but I don't have a Kimber myself. Not because I don't like them, but because I already have a Colt 1991A1 and see no need to own another similar .45 ACP.
  • Go with the Kimber. I've fired both, and I found the Kimber to be more accurate. It really depends on your hands though. Pick the one that fits best.
