  • I'm not from West Virginia, but in Missouri, most driving laws don't apply to parking lots. I would go to the DMV (or whatever it's called there) and get a copy of the latest driving manual. If there's nothing in there about how to drive in a parking lot, you may be able to beat it. Although if you were driving fast or swerving a lot, just goofing off, that would be considered reckless no matter where you were doing it.
  • Yes. Heres one. Its illegal to drive across parking lines in a parking lot. Fight all you want. Its a "parking lot" not a "drive anywhere you damn well please" lot.
  • Well, since it's illegal to drive across parking lines it's not really bullshit.
  • What was the manner of your driving across the parking lot lines? Speeding, doing doughnuts, running over people? Has to be more than you have told us.
  • I guess it would depend on the laws in your area. Store parking lots here are private property, none of the cops will patrol or watch them unless they are asked to by the business. (ie, they will ask cops to watch for people doing donuts in their parking lot during the winter because it's a liability to them)
  • i was doing anything..no speeding no doughnuts no burning tires...no didn't clock me for speed...didn't run over anyone...didn't come close to anyone...fucked up right? i wouldn't be pissed if i was acting a fool, but i wasn't
  • enough to have 11 points on my lic.
  • Parking lots are private property police do not have jurisdiction on private parking lots to issue tickets even if there is a wreck...UNLESS...there is a city ordenance in agreement with private parking lots. You should be able to contest this ticket but check to see if there is such an ordenance where you were.
