I would vaccinate third world children from polio, I have seen them crippled up, like one arm sticking out in front of them really stiff, this one kid looked like he was 11, but he was 22 because it stunted him. I would also feed them, maybe make shelters. Somewhere they can shower, get water, clothes washed. This is needed in Cambodia. I have seen it with my own eyes. Many people are missing arms, and legs. Too many, I see them on the street everywhere. I think this is from land mines dropped into the rice patties during the wars, Viet Nam, and Pol Pot wich both involved Cambodia. (1960's and some in the 1970's), maybe we should make those artificial limbs for them too, and clean up the mines. I have fed the children with my own money, and bought shirts. The polio boy asked if he could eat up at the bar with me, as I did not sit with the children, but stayed at the bar eating so they could have the tables, then he said he was 22 years old, and the waitress almost fell over because he was so small. I spent about $5,000.00 in three weeks there on feeding them, I dont mind telling you because no one knows who I am, and I would never toot my own horn. I remember once I went to a cafe on the river and sat down, then a kid came up to ask me to buy a book (their way to beg because they are too proud to beg), and the other kids that sell books to foreigners at the same time grabbed her arm, pulling her back, and said, "No, that is the man who feeds us, leave him alone", and I almost cried when they knew who I was, and protected me. Oh great now I am crying just thinking about it. It is just heart breaking to see the dirty faces, and truely skinny, and sometimes visibly diseased children, even a two year old without her mother and no shoes, just filthy. Even an older man wearing military fatigues, and missing an arm asked if they could eat too. I filled up restaurants with these children, and told the waitress to tell them they could order dessert too, and the restaurants did not mind the filthy looking kids being in thier super nice restaurant. I noticed most of them ordered coca-cola, and they all had these HUGE banana splits for dessert. I fed them instead of giving them cash, because some of them are not really poor, but when I saw small children eat meals that looked like 1/5 or 1/4 of their weight, I knew they were starving. My goal is to very soon sell everything I have, and go there again, and establish such a center to feed, and vaccinate them. Even if I go broke. I think I will have enough to do it on my interest soon, maybe sooner if I can rent out my house, that is my goal to save enough for that. I saw this white guy in the paper that never made much money, and he saved his whole life scrimping on everything, making sandwiches for his meal at work, and when he died he left millions of dollars for a scholarship fund for blacks. This inspired me a lot to think that I really could do something myself. I went and checked myself if those children you see on tv are really there, and needy, and they are. I figured if I went myself I would spend the money better than having 90% of it go to advertising, or paying saleries. It only costs about $1.00 for a great meal at a restaurant there. I filled those restaurants with poor, and indigent people. I think other people should go too. I got a bunch of shots before I went, but they are not all required. I am not sure any were even required because no one checked anything, but when I went to a place called Passport Health, they said to get the shots. Cambodia seems to be the most free country left on earth. They have pharmacies on every corner that do not ask for perscriptions when I got diarea they just gave me antibiotics right over the counter for $1.00 for what costs $120.00 in the USA, maybe you dont need perscriptioins because all the doctors were killed by Pol Pot in the 1970's, many doctors there now are foreigners, like French. Almost everyone speaks English there, especially the younger generation under 50 (most people). American Cigarettes were $1.00. This seems like a good place to retire. Everywhere I went though the women kept bothering me to go home with them, but I thought, wow they must all have some disease if they are like that! I would not go. Maybe they just want to go to America I think to get out of there. Maybe they should realize how nice it is there, and cheap. I thought it would be like grass shacks, but Phnom Penh had beautiful roads, and palace like structures along the rivers, and plenty of cheap places to stay. Very modern overall in the city. Do not brush your teeth with the water! I got diarea because I forgot. (especially don't drink it) Get bottled water. Do not buy antibiotics in the USA as they are only $1.00 there. Fly in, do not cross the borders on the ground because mobs of kids will pick someone, and steal their cameras and money, like 30 kids on one person. I heard that from someone at the airport that I lent the $15.00 airport fee to, so he could go home. He had a ticket but no money, I made him empty everything out and his bagage to show me he was not faking that he needed money, then he never sent me the money like he said he would. He was not from the USA, but I won't say on here where he was from, because I dont think they are all like him. I guess he got his karma before I met him.. eh? Maybe I can attach some pix. I will try. Take care, and enjoy your refrigerator tonight, as I certainly will thank God as I open the door.
I added 4 pictures but they dont seem to be showing up.. maybe they will later. Do they wait and screen them? Ya, if I only had $10 million...I would give it all away.
The kid at the bar had polio so badly in his right arm that I had to cut his steak for him.
Lastly, I show you a picture a half mile from where I am feeding poor kids, these are some smaller of many buildings at The Pallace of The King in Phnom Penh. Along the river was so much wealth.
