  • There's always craigs list for temporary gigs and jobs. Lots of people are really busy around this time and would probably pay to have their houses cleaned or gifts wrapped. You can sell your body. Or you can make homemade gifts. Like slippers made from sanitary napkins!
  • sorry they aren't being understanding. just buy a multi-pack of lip gloss and give one to each of them. maybe that will get the point across that sometimes, you just can't cater to everyone and their mother's material wants.
  • If it were me I'd say screw them. If they place more value on gifts then people then there's something wrong with them. If you must give them something though, I'd go for home made. I have a scarf knitted by a family member that is positively beautiful. I got it 2 Christmases ago and it still looks new despite it being worn a lot.
  • I dont know if you like to make things or cook, but sometimes making christmas candy and placing it in a nicely decorated basket along with some other homemade items (such as a mason jar with spiced tea or hot chocolate with directions) is very thoughtful. You can also throw in some inexpensive Christmas hand towels, soaps, etc or some personalized ornaments wpictures. OR You can do 'themed' items too. My mother-in-law used to give me nursing ornaments every year and I knew she collected angels, so I would give her a different angel every year. Most mothers love that kind of stuff! Good luck!
  • If there aren't too many of them you could give them certificates good for time. . .housecleaning, a night's free babysitting etc. Christmas dinner for all at your home.
