I usually tell my doctor what is wrong and what I need and he almost always agrees and gives it to me. It is an in and out thing and sadly I have to pay him to get my prescriptions if and when I need them. it was always the same when I used to go for therapy too... I always ended up telling them what was wrong.

i dont usually go to the doctors unless it is something which i cant get over fast myself. when i do go i always ask for my own doctor too. hes great and defo listens to me.

I don't think so. He seems to have a script that he asks questions from. The other day, I complained about pain and he asked me to rate it on a scale of 1-10. What is that supposed to mean? I've had really excruciating pain and this was nowhere near that bad, so I said "3" and he didn't bother taking that any further. Apparently, the response "3" means it's nothing to worry about.

It has been more than 10 years since I visited a doctor of any kind...I have very little faith in Western medicine...

No. She calls me in Writes me a certificate and I leave. She odesnt listen to me but I remember when my mum was with me she always listened
-
I have several doctors, and yes, I feel they do listen to me.

Most doctors listen to pick up catch words and then assume they know what's wrong and what you want done. But I have had two doctors that really listened and spent a lot of time with me. Both of them were chiropractors, busy ones too. One became a friend over the years because he cared and listened so well.

I feel like my doctor does not listen to my health problems or health questions, and that is not good because I want a doctor that will care about me

I refuse to go to a doctor that does not. I actually went to a new doctor when my HMO said I had to. The doctor was actually a guy I went to school with. I was going for sciatica (I get it a lot) and, when he came in, I told him. He looked at me and said 'I am the doctor, I will make the diagnosis.' I told him, 'the time you have spent in this room, less than 1 minute, and the time your nurse has spent on me, less than 5 minutes, equals the hour I spent in your waiting room. We are even, and YOU need to learn what the term 'bedside manner' means. Goodbye.' And walked out. He did not bill me.

My family dr. did not really listen to me until I told him of problems more than once and had them noted. After that he sent me to a specialist where the problems were confirmed. The problems were then sent back to the family dr who has the problems in the file. If I have a problem I make sure it is noted and if I still have the problem later I make sure they understand it is still a problem.

Of cousre not. After all, it's not as if they're in the business of caring

I have a wonderful female doctor who spends 1-2 hours at every annual physical and I believe she really knows/cares about my welfare.
-
Yes, I think mine does, at least I haven't caught him falling asleep yet !! :-)
-
:P Yes ...mine does :)
-
It seems that way, but you never know.
-
They don't but I can't understand a word they are saying. Both my primary care provider and OB/GYN are from different countries.

I have Kaiser Insurance and I must say that all the different doctors I've had through the years have been wonderful! Their staffs as well...I have gotten phone calls on a Saturday night from human beings(not a computer message) about something or another relating to my health more than once! Night phone calls during the week more than once because they are still at work doing their job. So yes, absolutely! :)

My own family Doctor does listen to all that I have to say. But when he refers me to a specialist the specialist goes more by the report of my Doctor.
-
no. she laughed in my face when i told her i do not think my breathing problem is related to anxiety or stress. then she gave me a container full of pills and sent me on my way. the pills didnt help anything but they made me feel good so i abused them and mixed them with alcohol. that will teach that fucking bitch.
-
Yes but he is wrong half the time!
-
Yes he does. I have a very good doctor that has helped me tremendously.
-
More than I need :)

Mine does. We're colleagues, too, and I really get the impression that she cares about what happens to me.
-
Yes..he even hears things I didnt say..lol :)
-
i used to have a problem that had gotten better.. but every time that it had come up at the doctors they would try to blame what was going on to the old problem. it bugs me so badly.
-
Yes, right after I told him I was an attorney.
