If there aren't any laws on the books concerning break times in your state, then you are out of luck. Depending on the labor climate in your area and profession, you could try unionizing and try collective bargaining to get your breaks back.

legal and fair is not the same. In my country there is a law that says that employers can't change labor conditions (even if they are legal) if that implies worsening employees conditions. Seek help from a labor lawyer to see if the same applies here.

Hi im assuming you work for the library..My answer is totaly based where i Live...It states here, where I live. An Adult employee in an 8 hour work shift by law will recieve 2, 15 minute breaks an 1 30 minute lunch break. Minors recieve 1, 15 minute break every 2 hours, an 1, 30 minute lunch break....But as I said this is for the state I live in...All states have labor laws, an differ from state to state...I would call your local government like better business bureau.
