You need to ask the pony and get its views. Mr Bill

You weigh 14 stone? Is this a new measure past the metric system?

Try 15 hands....If that doesnt work, go in for a pony fitting.

Okay, not being British, I'm trying to do the conversion here. A stone is 14 pounds? So you are nearly 200 lbs? I wouldn't go for a pony, although a pony might actually carry you better than a horse. Ponies are sturdy little creatures, and because they are closer to the ground, they can often balance the weight better. But you are a bit too tall to ride a pony comfortably either. I'm trying to think what is available in Britain that would work. Connamara's are big Cob size ponies and pretty sturdy, if you must go with a pony. But you might do better with something like an Irish Draft or something with a touch of Shire or Clydsedale in it. Some kind of a sturdy Hunter. If you were in the States, I'd probaby recommend a Tennessee Walking Horse or a Morgan or a working Quarter Horse (as opposed to a halter horse, they tend to have soundness issues). Appaloosa's tend to be good and sturdy too. But I know you don't have those over there to choose from. If you can get your hands on a Haflinger, they are tough, sturdy Cob size ponies.
