Yeah, that is about right!! But you will have to call me unpatriotic, because I'm not going that route.

The best thing that we can do is, in 2010 *Vote out ALL incumbents*. Regardless of party or popularity, vote them ALL out, across the board.

Bah, patriotism can't work one way...banks and governmental establishments messed themselves up for this, and now us citizens should rectify it by purchasing things that we don't need until we starve? Where will the money come from? How are we supposed to make some when they kill all the jobs and cancel beneficial government programs? And anyways, money goes in a cycle, it has to come from somewhere, and someone somewhere has most of it. I wish I could shit money but damn, I don't seem to be able to. Is this the kind of relationship policy patriotism implies? Like how dumb is that? Making us buy all this stuff we can't afford? And the worse is, someone up in their ivory tower has more than enough money to contribute to a helpful start of a solution for the recession, at least. The growing gap between rich and poor was not heeded, and now look what it did. I'm already at the bottom of the ladder, I can't fall much more further, I'll just have to try and avoid the debris when everyone else falls. Both the government and the people must work together to realize the general definition of patriotism that we understand it by, in order to have something stable and proud to support and call your country. Otherwise, all patriotism does is offer some fancy speeches for some poor soldiers who died in a war, and that isn't fair. :(

That's how we got into this mess. People and businesses which were undercapitalized created an inflated credit bubble based on the false expectation that their assets, mainly real estate, would never decline in value. Since the burst of the bubble, we are in a period of massive debt liquidation. People need to save now, not go into more debt.
