I've got about 2 minutes left on my break, not enough time to post a question. Could you do me a favor and just post any answer for this?

Ever answer a question, and hit "post", but something went wrong, and it
deleted your answer ? Coincidence? I don't try again.

What would you say is the % of mean/insulting people on here to nice people? Another similar site I was on was almost all mean people.

Have y'all noticed that the questions generating the most responses are "religion related?" Why is that?

Yup, yup, yup. Pretty much.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 28th, 2007
? sorry Jade... what do you mean by the reject gay questions thing....
by FancyFeast on November 28th, 2007
A State fan, alli? :-)
@fancyfeast- I am talking about the member who is asking the offensive questions and being a jerk.
by Jade on November 29th, 2007
oh! offensive questions suck. i thought you were saying that questions about gays were not to be asked here... misinterpreted what you said :)
by FancyFeast on November 29th, 2007
Oh..lol..no I would never even suggest that :-)
by Jade on November 29th, 2007
I would really like to make a smart@$$ comment right now, but I'd better watch myself, the trolls seem to be out today.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
What makes you say that, wanderer? Is your stuff getting trolled? :(
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Yup. It started a few days ago. I answered a question, apparently the wrong way, and it was all downhill from there. But you can see from my question I just put up, I've had a major change of attitude. I've decided to be flattered.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
That's good. You can always turn off the "new ratings notification" thing in your feedback for a while if you don't want a constant reminder of the "disapproval" every time you check to see you have new comments.
Look for the checkboxes on the right side of the feedback page - " show: answers comments ratings" That's where you uncheck "ratings"
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Will do, those things make me crazy anyway (I really just want to know when I need to say something to somebody). Thanks!
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
By the way, to what does the "Stop PW on Congrats Questions" refer?
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1784086
One or two ABers selfishly ask congrats questions because they know congrats questions typically get 100 points or more. All they care about are points. Their insincerity cheapens the whole experience.
Because AB allows only one congrats Q per honoree/per event, when a points whore gets the jump on the Q, none of the congratulatee's friends can ask.
My motto >> throw congrats parties because you care about the person - not the points! Sadly, some people don't care. They continue PWing, anyway. It's been a problem for the last six months and people are fed up.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
and if people don't congratulate you at all and you're proud of your own sage... do you think it's ok then to do it yourself or is it bragging for you?
@wander-er-er : sorry for the troll thing. wish i could do something about it :( what was the question anyways?
by FancyFeast on November 29th, 2007
FF - some people see it as bragging, I guess and some don't. Best thing to do, imho, is get one of your friends to ask. I'll ask for you anytime and will gladly take no points for asking. Seriously!! Most people feel that way. Like I said, just get a friend to ask.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
oh ok! i'm not there yet... :) but it's good advice.
is it ok to then answer the question with an answer saying "thanks to all and the asker" or should you only comment and say thanks? (sorry for the annoying questions, I just want to make sure i don't offend anyone like i did in my first days here lol)
by FancyFeast on November 29th, 2007
I wish I had thought of that..I just crept right through my "sagedom" with nary a notice from anyone..*sniff*..lol
by Jade on November 29th, 2007
Jade >> Awwwwww. Now you know what to do when you make Maestro in 4,000 points or so!!! BTW, your profile is gorgeous!
FF, no, it's ok. Never hurts to ask! I like to thank everyone who answers in a comment under the individual answer. They may never see a "thanks to all and the asker" answer, after all. Thanking everyone individually takes time, sure, but it's good etiquette and people appreciate your thanking them.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
LOL..yeah. Re:the profile, thanx, but the credit goes to Retroglide..I just told her a little of what I liked..she did an awesome job!!
by Jade on November 29th, 2007
@ff, it was something totally stupid. I talked to the girl that posted it, and apparently this individual has been trolling everyone who responds positively to her.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
...is it her? kinda awkward to have a stalker like that
by FancyFeast on November 29th, 2007
It is weird.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
BTW, the question in the following link will show you the worst case of trolling I've ever seen. No points, please - I simply want you to see how bad trolling can get. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/485911
Took place Thanksgiving Day/evening, and AB-HQ was closed.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Good God, people. That's frightening.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Yeah, but the upshot is that people read what happened and uprated all those answers. She ended up with approximately ten billion points that day, LOL
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
True, true. And while we're all here in the arena of down rated questions... what's up with this Poindexter character? Does he have a(n) history?
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Who is he? Poindexter, I mean. Enlinken us, so that we may tar and feather the rapscallion.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Oh, Jodie, you sweet talker, you. http://www.answerbag.com/profile/?id=231447
That is him. He induced me to flagging. Speaking of that, I left him a comment you might get a giggle out of. I won't repeat it, though.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
By the way, I think you need to be my friend, if that is alright with you. I will add you.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Sure!! Get this - I tried to add you as friend while ago, but forgot I was actually on Poindexter's profile, and requested him instead <snicker>. I'm an idiot, LOL.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
That's beautiful... never fear, he'll reject you. You aren't a stupid supermodel who wants to sleep with him. Or are you?
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
LMAO - great comment! What a bonehead question "Why aren't women interested in sex?"
And hell, no! I don't want to sleep with him, LOL. Not in this lifetime. Or the next, either!
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Y'all just need to be watchful of his alter ego, Dexter, the one who answers his questions. WEIRD LOL
by Jade on November 29th, 2007
Yeah, Jade, that is weird. I would've expected him to comment maybe, but not respond. Creepy dude.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Jodie, he just hasn't found anyone with low enough self esteem yet, that's his problem. I'm afraid for her. He's probably a sociopath with a refrigerator full of body parts.
I posted this and realized how awful it sounds... but when you think of it, extreme misogyny is a warning sign of all that stuff, no?
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Even if it's not, we can safely assume he's light years from the lead role in "Mr. Sensitive and Wonderful Proves Chivalry is Alive and Flourishing".
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
True... I may be single and desperate, but even I have standards. I'd nuke that before I'd sleep with it.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
HAHAHA. Did you call him "it"? Uh oh. Get ready for a wild ride, my friend - read this question, the answers, and the comments. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/442943
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Single and desperate? I don't believe that for a minute!
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Well, the first half was true. I do seek a mate, but I haven't reached the point of desperation.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Did my last comment show up (the one before the seeking a mate), because I don't see it here.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
If you don't see your comment, then no, it either didn't post or it disappeared once it posted. That's a weird glitch in the AB software. The Curse of the Vanishing Comments. One minute you see it, the next - poof! Gone.
by Jodie44 on November 29th, 2007
Odd... I'm trying to remember what I said. Oh, well.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 29th, 2007
Jade - here's one I found: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/397490. That's the most DR'd still-active question I've read so far.
by Jodie44 on November 30th, 2007
Well they just gained my -5.
