Help answer this question below.

My step daughter lies to her dad, mom and I. She will tell us that her mom said she was coming to pick her up when when we are to take her home. I not believing her have her dad call her mom to double check. Her dad nor mom will confront her. What to do?

    Are you the step dad or the step Mom?

    Step relationships are tricky. My gut instinct is, don't step (no pun intended) on the biological parents toes, but you do have the right to insist that people living in your house follow your rules. Sounds like the young lady in question could use some firm guidelines, but you may not be able to be the one to lay them down for her because of your relationship with the whole divorced family.

    Is outside counseling an option? Can you and the pther involved adults agree to a family meeting on this matter?
