  • Yeah, I know what you mean. I choose to blame the administration which set the ball rolling, and there's plenty of blame to spread around. hopefully, the next administration will at least turn things around. There are no quick fixes for this mess and I'm afraid things will get worse before they get better, and I think we (working taxpayers) are now getting the bitter dregs of a "trickle down" economy, which was supposed to be a solution.

  • I don't have much to add to Troubl's answer, but i do find it interesting that the American public is not ourtraged at Congresses lack of accountability and what i think is wreckless decision making.
  • The financail crisis is a global crisis. Our government alone did not create the mess. They contributed by attempting to manipulate the economy to stop the normal ebe an flow. The ups and downs of the economy should change peoples behavior. They contributed by getting us into a war that is costing taxpayers billions. The government can't fix this any more than they are responsible for it. Greed got us into this situation. Corporations make record profits but cut costs by eliminating positions and pushing people to be ultra efficient. There is no longer a 40 hour work week for professionals. It is commonly expected that exempt employees work 45 plus hours a week and receive raises with 1-2% below the rate of inflation. Yes the government could pass laws that regulate this but they would be accused of being socialist.
  • The government needs to get out of this. This government has for decades been to corrupt, incompetent, and immoral to do anything but serve themselves.
  • I wish I could laugh at the irony but it isn't funny while in progress. People are not taking away the correct lesson from this experience.
