It baffles me too. Christians worship God in public as well as within the privacy of their homes. Atheists on the other hand do not worship God in public. Also quite possibly they don't worship God within the confines of their homes privately - we may reasonably assume. Then what is this fuss all about?

Surely you realize that, while your question is a good one, your secondary premise is intrinsically flawed. I mean, seriously. But some Christians do get upset when an atheist shouts his stance from the rooftops, for the same reason that some atheists get upset about it. It's human nature to feel threatened by something so radically different, particularly in the case of religion becuase a prayer group has such enormous potential to become a mob. I myself can't help feeling a little annoyed when I see a bunch of folks praying out in public but the trick is to just ignore it, give the group a big smile, and go about my business. Why? Because it's NOTHING PERSONAL. People pray. People don't pray. Either way it's not a personal attack or a threat. Both groups could sometimes use a reminder that we live in what we hope is a modern equal society in which two radically different groups can peacefully coexist.

How can someone not worship God in public?? Well i think what u mean is, how can non-believers get mad at Christians, when in return Christians do not get upset with non-believers when they openly talk about their (non) beliefs...because it is technically impossible for atheists to worship ANYTHING...by definition they worship nothing. Well, to answer this, I think all religons have their own problems with other religions so its inevitable. I know that atheists may get upset because usually, they will have to face someone who Is religious, who puts religion in their face....so atheist build a stereotype against believers and thus put down whatever believers do. Alot of them, as any other person of any religion, can be very ignorant though and think believers are dumb.

SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING LIKE THIS EARLIER...heres my response if n e 1 gives a poo I believe that the pressure of religion or creationism in public schools is not good because it has an influence on very impressionable beings who are basically being dragged into something they know nothing of...BUT the 10 commandments are ways for humans to conduct themselves properly in a sense, so i believe it should be re-worded or adjusted for children to understand what it means, without it having reference to religion. I also believe that biology that involves evolution should be taught in school because its an interesting part of KNOWLEDGE, just like other life on other planets.

I think it's the style of worshiping rather than the act itself. Just because I don't want you singing "grandma got run over by a reindeer" non-stop on my train home does not mean I'm intolerant of music. And I think Christians don't get upset when atheist don't worship God in public because all Christians have, at some point, not worshiped God in public themselves.

I could not care less if Christians worship God in public. As long as somebody, anybody, does not bother me with whatever they are doing, I do not care what they do. Now I would be bloody surprised if I saw an atheist worshiping GOD anywhere.

I personally could care less, I think they are amusing. But I think its because atheist are so sure of themselves that there is no God that its annoying to them to always have to hear that BS where ever they go. To see people so blindingly ignorant that they are making complete fools of themselves in public, and the fact that no one even asked them to show up to said place, they feel they can just do what they want because they are praising they have the right to make a ruckus in a public place. Thats just my opinion though lol.

It pisses me off when I go to a concert or listen to someone I look up to or respect give a sermon. I didn't go to see them for the 'word of god,' I went to see them for them. I don't care if they reference god, but when they off on a tangent over this god bs, that's where I draw the line.
