  • Lockheed Martin
  • Northrop Grumman (mostly military stuff).
  • Other than Lockheed, there really isn't much US competition for Boeing. You have Bombardier in Canada, Embraer, and of course, Airbus in Europe. Boeing has essentially eaten up most of the other aviation companies, with the exception of Cessna, which really doesn't have any competing aircraft. There used to be Mcdonnel Douglas, maker of MD and formerly DC, but now they too have become a part of Boeing. These aircraft, the most popular being the MD-80 series, are still flying today all over the world. One thing I have noticed about Boeing is that they do not get involved in the regional aircraft industry. With more and more regional jets pouring into service, Boeing continues building the larger airliners. Currently, Boeing builds several new model 737's, the 747-400 (developments for an 800 are being made), as well as the dreamliner project. So as far as large airliners are concerned, Boeing is the sole US manufacturer.
