Good question. Usually it means "I was prevented from doing something I enjoyed" or "I was trying to accomplish something and made no progress". But is it even possible to "waste" time? I suppose the phrase has it's uses, but I think it should raise a little red flag, too.... the one that says "every moment matters" -- if you're not really treating each moment as something valuable, regardless of what's going on, are you really living? Or are you just waiting for life to start? And can you waste time if you're fully engaged, no matter what is happening?
