Don't worry, she is just very self conscience about her appearance and smell.

She wanted to take care of her "chode"- being the responsible cat that she is, but you beat her to it. She is now letting you know that next time she will handle it and wants you to notice how much assistance she does not need. Just keep the food dish filled is all she requests.

Dawn dishsoap is nontoxic, so it should not hurt her. BUT, she may be allergic to it, and itching. Licking may be the only way of relieving it. Or, she may have an impacted anal gland. This, it seems can cause localized pain for a cat in their hind quarters and tummy areas. They lick incessantly because they don't know what else to do as they can't reach the "source" of the pain.
