I purposely bought a house near my work. So i only have about a block and a half to work. I'll walk home for lunch even a lot of days. Sold my car. Now I just hit the bus for groceries if I need, and rent a car if i need to go out of town for a few days. Love it.

I'm a 19 year old student and part time cook. I jog to work which is two miles uphill. I jog to the community college which is seven miles away, mostly uphill. Invest in a Camelbak hyrdation system and you can walk anywhere.

I have walked my commute for at least 15 years. I've measured the route from door to door; it's exactly one mile. I work graveyard shift and I love the return trip home, I often see interesting sights. Most often the sky is the center of attention. I've seen many meteors and some great sunrises. If not that, some great storms.
