Although, it is entirely unfounded, some people have told me that since they fell homosexuality is a deviant sexual behavior, they believe they are more likely to perform other deviant sexual behaviors, such as child molestation. I tell them they are sick for thinking that.

I believe some people are concerned about straight people - can't give you numbers on how many are concerned about gays or straight. You may be correct the gays may be more of a concern for some. If so I could only guess it would be they have a preconceived notion,prejudice, bias, or fear of the unknown in that they believe that gay people have low or no morals and that none of the same sex or the young are safe.

I don't want ANYONE: gay, straight, drunk, sober, black, white, blue green, female, male, Christian, Jew, Buddhist...ANYONE around my kids that I don't know and trust personally.

I have never understood this either. What difference does it make who a teacher, police officer, or other authority figure sleeps with in their private life. If that person has passed all qualifications for their career choice, is good at their job....their personal life (aside from any pedophilia type stuff) matters not at all to me. Say your child comes home and wants to go play over at "joe's" house and u know joe has two dads or two moms....does that mean little joe should have no friend because allt he kids in his class have parents that think being near a gay person will turn their child gay????? So stupid when pplthink like that. If your child is going to grow up gay he will grow up that way regardless of whether or not he had a friend with gay parents, a gay teacher or was pulled over and ticketed by a gay cop....YOU influence your children however you cannot stop them from becoming whomever or whatever they will eventually become. PPL need to relax...gay is just gay...doesn't make them a pedophile, doesn't make them contagious. really ppl in this day and age we have biggeer things to worry about in this world that could harm our children.

Who thinks this?? Gay does not equate to pedophile it equates to same sex relationship... What is the problem with our kids seeing a more diverse and realistic slice of society?

Some people believe that being gay is an acquired trait and that gays are actively "recruiting" others to "become" gay all the time. They seem to think that being straight is something that doesn't affect how you act in a public situation, but that somehow being gay is different and makes you think of nothing but sex and trying to seduce straight kids or adults. As for why they might think that way, that's another topic!
