What countries are stable enough to do that?
-
No. We are nowhere near an ideal place to end economic development. If you are looking for good signs that we are nearing there, think Star Trek. Are all the people in any country employed? Do all people have dependable medical treatment? Are all children well fed and given opportunity to educate themselves? Have we cured cancer and heart disease? Are the amazing technological and medical advantages that modern society has produced available to all human beings? Have we achieved world peace? Is pollution and deforestation down to sustainable levels? If the answer to any of these is no, then the economic growth still has some work to do. Things are better than they were, but we have a long way to go.

the problem with "Economic Growth" is the greed, "Capitalism" or any other economic model is always at the mercy of Greed and Corruption, that is why it is irrelevant as to whom was elected since the type of economic growth that has been going on for far to long is the rape of one countries resources and people by other countries ... 23 trillion dollar debt and they want to bail out those that created the problems in the first place who have lined there pockets with what does not belong to them in the first place .. consumeritis - designed to fail products that do not work in the first place and requires an added effort to get them to either work or throw away and buy another , this has been the biggest waist of resources and energy on the planet .. and no country is is so "well developed" since the kind of development that is going on is not really development at all just another round of rapes and murders it's been designed that way and most are to blind to see it ... creating junk, buying, selling and trading junk requires an awful lot of energy to accomplish don't you think yet they want to continue with the same old bull with using the same old lines it did not work then and it wont work now period ... so go home and keep your junk to your selves ... ~Nemo~
