  • I think a good part has to do with man's insecurity with the worlds around him, part of it also has to do with man's insecurity with himself. Most religions explain our external world, they also usually provide a code of behavior or conduct for us to apply to ourselves.
  • Man kind's instincts are much like other, wild animals' are. We feel insecure and therefore, unsafe. We feel the need to have someone to take the blame for our faults, and when no one is around, we push our madness mostly to God. Man needs something to believe is in higher position than himself or pressure gets to us and we get scared. Religions change as fast as anything, and therefore, our beliefs change. But, if we believe in a God, we believe in a higher power, which leads us to feel more secure under His care. See what I mean? :)
