I've held the hands of many people as they have died. The act itself (dying) does not scare me and I only believe in a physical death. I believe when one dies, the soul (which is made of energy) releases and becomes free. What does bother me though, is my children. I love them deeply and don't want them to be devestated when I go, but I know they will be. That's why I take care of my physical, mental and spiritual health as much as possible. On the other hand, it could be a motor vehicle collision that takes my life. Who knows. Incidentally, the last physical sense to go is that of hearing. If anyone reading this is with someone in who is dying, until you see the flat line on the monitor (assuming they are on a monitor) keep talking, because they can hear you.

the suffering associated with dying scares the hell outta me. i work with law enforcment and ive seen way too many people suffer terribly. Also, I have concerns about dying yooung and leaving my children unready for the world. the thought of being DEAD doesnt bother me because i firmly believe in another, better place where I can be with those i have already lost.

Being dead doesn't bother me. Dying does. I've always said I'm not scared of death, I'm scared of the pain normally associated with dying.
