  • You're wise to be wary of the "rebound relationship." There was a pop song and a movie in 1953-54 called "Ricochet Romance." Lyrics: http://www.physics.purdue.edu/~schneppn/ricochet Movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047410/ There is a good chance that the guy might see you as a stand-in for sex while his gf is away. If you're looking for a life-long love, you may not get it. But if you can be content with whatever happens, you might enjoy yourself. On an optimistic note, maybe he'll learn to like you better than his long-distance gf. It happens all the time.
  • Oops. This was supposed to be a comment. <blush>
  • If he would just dump her for her going to college, he is NOT worth it. How would you like it if he said to some other girl while you were dating him that he would go out with her? Think about it. Oh, and drop this soul-mate nonsense. He is with someone else -- NOT you. Whatever you do, do not try to destroy their relationship. You'll only end up hurting yourself in the end.
  • I don't like the sounds of this, to be honest. What's he doing telling you that he'd go out with you (if he were single) if he already has a girlfriend? You sound like a back-up to me - if he really respected his girlfriend he wouldn't have said anything of the sort to you.
  • Hey just to let you know, me and him went out, but we decided to mutually break-up and just be brother/sister type relationship. rules that way.
