How often do you fight with your kids about movies or tv shows that they want to watch that you feel are inappropriate for their age?

I have a 14 yr old and this subject comes up often between him and his father and I. Probably about 2-3 times a month. Sometimes is about internet content or video games as well, not just limited to t.v. or movies.

NEVER. I AM THE ADULT AND THEY ARE THE CHILD. AND HOPEFULLY THE ADULT IS BEING THE ADULT.

never, since I had the cable turned off!!!!!! I dont watch tv, so why pay for cable, just to have one more thing they can complain about? Their nintendos are also locked up in my desk drawer!!! They have 5 acres to play on and need to be outside doing what kids are supposed to do.

i don't have a kid yet but i was the kid not too long ago. we never fought about it but then my parents were pretty lenient. in fact they should us porn when we were kids but then i was too young to remember. my sister just told me about it. everything worked out fine for all 3 of us siblings. i can't say if none of us engaged in pms but i can say none of us got or got someone pregnant out of wedlock

No fighting involved. What I say goes... ...though I question how effective I've been. My 3 preteens love The Disney Channel which mass produces (in my opinion) the most insipid programming in history. Seems like they take rejected sitcom scripts, replace the adult actors with children, change the setting to a school and rack in the bucks. The result is 24 hour carbon copy snarky kids spouting one liners that would make your grandmother blush. Whatever happened to Andy friggin' Griffith?
