Have you ever tried to write a novel? If so, how far did you get (how many words?)? If you've never tried, have you ever thought of a good plot, but didn't know where to start?

I have tried to write a novel but stopped at about 50 pages because i couldn't decide how to lead up to the great ending i had already written. It is a mid-evil novel and its wonderful...waiting for inspiration..

I have tried several years ago. I probably got 60k words into it. It was supposed to be a scary novel, but it turned into a graphic love story...So I got rid of it. I was working on another one which I started a few years ago. Not sure how many words, but I know I had over forty pages, plus the ending written, until my flash drive was stolen...I was going to make it into a series...Oh well. Time to start on another. I'm better with short stories. I don't have the patience for an entire novel, and I feel I have to have every twist and turn planned out because I tend to stray, and I'll stray until I get lost.
