Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"

Yeah know I beleive that doctors and mechanics are about the same.. unless they have had to fix the same problem before they really are not sure what is going on so yeah it is just practice.

Without droning on about how it is "practiCe" and not "practiSe", I would like to say that I am a medical student, and that we don't practice it, we do it right. Then the nurses correct us.

Top musicians and sportsmen practice every day, even though they have reached the top of the tree. Pablo Casals, a famous cellist, said words to the effect that "If I miss one days practice, only I notice. If I miss two, only fellow virtuosi notice. If I miss three, everybody notices". I would rather my doctor was at the very peak of form, thank you.
