Do you consider it ill-mannered and/or gauche for Answerbaggers to ask for points on either questions or answers?

I think its almost as bad as answering or commenting on a question without rating it. But then, its not about the points or levels.

I find it a bit odd; however, I don't find it any more odd than the people who receive their answer and do not rate it. I like to know that the person found my answer helpful. I'm less interested in the points than the feedback.

To me, there is no harm in asking for something. The worst response would be "no". Points don't cost me any money and I don't mind a reminder here and there because sometimes the whole point concept slips my mind.

Yeah, I hate that. This entire site has turned into a big ugly ratings grab. It used to be that when you posted thorough and useful answers, you were rewarded with positive ratings. Neither of these things are now necessary to get high ratings. It seems that now the only thing you have to do is simply ask as many silly questions as possible, answer as many silly questions as possible, and most importantly, be POPULAR! Sorry, not trying to pick on anybody, I just returned to AB after being away for awhile, and I'm not happy with what I have returned to. I think this site has lost much of it's integrity. Yes, I do. Like BAM said, it makes me want to rate them less. I think you get the points you earn, not 'steal', if you'd call it that.

Absolutely. I saw it for the first time yesterday. Somebody gave an answer and then came back later and outright asked for points and complained that nobody had given him points for it. Can you believe it! That's worse than being a ordinary 'points whore'.

VERY and it's against TOS. I will usually flag them as nonsense cause they get rejected as nonsense.. I understand people wanting points but they need to earn them like everyone else
